January 13th-14th: Community Color Project at the Florida Manatee Festival
Join us at this year's Florida Manatee Festival and work alongside the Twistid Arts Initiative Artists to complete a beautiful community-driven mural at the Splash Pad by the Pump House in downtown Crystal River. February 8th- April 25th: Twistid Arts Academy 2024
We are excited to introduce our newest program, the “Twistid Arts Academy," aimed at providing an immersive and inclusive art class experience for individuals of all ages and skill levels. This 12-week program, hosted by the Twistid Arts Initiative, is designed to cultivate creativity, develop technical skills, and build a supportive artistic community. At the end of the course, there will be a gallery event to showcase the student's work, which will be open to the public. |

March 25th - 26th: Advanced Realism Intensive Workshop
The Advanced Realism Art Intensive is a comprehensive and immersive program designed for seasoned artists seeking to elevate their skills and delve deeper into the intricate world of realism. This intensive course focuses on refining techniques, expanding conceptual understanding, and fostering a heightened level of artistic expression within the realm of realism. Students will learn: -Figure Drawings -Dynamic Lighting -Still Life Studies -Advanced Anatomy Studies Hands-on, direct instruction will be given by our seasoned, professional artists. |

May 25th: Finding Nemo auditions
Auditions will be held on May 25th at the Twistid Studio. All children will be required to audition. Children looking to work on the technical side (backstage, etc.) will still need to attend auditions but will not be required to perform. Information and materials for auditions will be sent out closer to the date via email. Must be pre-registered to audition. |

July 15th: Summer Intensive Theatre Program Auditions
Auditions will be held on 6/15 from 1 pm - 4 pm (Twistid Studios: 904 S Hwy 41 Inverness). Students will be provided a cast list and scripts by the end of the following week. Students will be expected to be primarily off-book by the beginning of the program. Must be pre-registered to audition. |

July 15th-28th: Summer Intensive Theater Program
Our summer intensive program is a two-week crash course in all things theater. The program will culminate in a theatrical performance on the final weekend at the Historic Valerie Theater in downtown Inverness. Our organization is a member of the Florida Association for Theater Education and our instructors backgrounds include NYU/Tisch-training, and the Chapter Director of the Florida Thespian Society, making our program an excellent way to kick-start your performing arts career with structured, professional education. This program is designed for high school students. More information coming soon. |

The Valerie Theatre, Downtown Inverness Synopsis: "It's senior year, and problems are mounting for a group of high school students as they prepare for the future. Facing bullies, parents, pressure, sickness, and their own self-judgment, the characters search for ways to stand out. As they document their year, one click at a time, they come to realize life is not about what other people see -- it's about the pictures they have of themselves." Selfie is a one-act straight play that focuses on the themes that teens face on a daily basis. This heavy show will take both the actors and the audience on an emotional rollercoaster and will leave quite an impression on everyone involved. |

The Valerie Theatre, Downtown Inverness Disney’s Finding Nemo KIDS is a 30-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves. Featuring memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” Finding Nemo KIDS brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure. |

September 7th: Scare Acting Workshop
Our scare acting workshop will take place on September 7th at the Whispering Pines Recreational Building from 12 pm to 4 pm. The workshop is FREE to local high school theater students and our Historic Haunt cast, and $10 for the general public. During the scare acting workshop, you'll learn the science behind scare acting, participate in improv exercises, go through basic audition training, and more. Learn from our team of experts - professional scare actors, acting coaches, and directors. You'll also get a behind-the-scenes peek at some of our awesome props, costumes, and more! Thanks to the City of Inverness, Florida Government for providing the venue! |

Ryan Cabrera is coming back to Citrus County to DJ our Vampire Ball at this year's Cootertober celebration! Join us on October 18th from 7 to 10 pm as we dance, drink, and party the night away in true vampiric style! Get donned up in the style of your favorite vampire character, and join us for this amazing event! Taco & Nacho bar included in ticket price and provided by The Train Station. October 25th-26th from 7 pm - 10 pm: Historic Haunt
Last Year's Hottest Halloween Event is Back - and bigger than ever! The Historic Haunt was one of the most talked about events in Cootertober last year, with over 2,000 people going through this unique immersive experience in just a matter of hours. And this year, we're planning to go even bigger and better! This actor-based haunt takes the history of our beloved historic courthouse and twists it into a creep-tastic immersive experience, featuring an interactive digital scavenger hunt, unique storytelling elements, and more. A sensory-friendly version of the Haunt will be available from 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm (last entry) for those not quite ready to brave the full haunt. We'll be turning off all sounds and lighting effects, turning on the house lights, and removing all the jump scares, scents, and air effects. The sensory-friendly version of the Historic Haunt is an opportunity for everyone to check out the haunt safely and comfortably. |
